Claire & Matthew: A Lusty Beg Wedding Bash to Remember by Northern Ireland Wedding Photographer

Right, so, picture this: a charming chapel in Magherfelt, love in the air thicker than spuds at a harvest, and Claire and Matthew about to say "I do." As a Northern Ireland wedding photographer, I, Eamonn McColgan from Treasure Box Photography, had the absolute pleasure of capturing all the magic – a wedding day that was less "stiff upper lip" and more "let's have a proper celebration," if you know what I mean. And what a celebration it was, culminating in a fantastic Lusty Beg wedding!

They started off proper, mind you, with a beautiful ceremony in the chapel. A few tears, a few smiles, the usual wedding shebang. But then, things got interesting. Instead of a stuffy old limousine, they hopped into a bright red Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Talk about arriving in style! It was like something out of a classic movie, only with a bit more Northern Irish personality. Perfect for those stylish wedding photos!

Now, getting from Magherfelt to Lusty Beg Island Resort in Fermanagh can be a bit of a trek, but Claire and Matthew were clever about it. An 11:30 am ceremony meant they had plenty of time to get to their Lusty Beg wedding venue without rushing. Smart thinking, that. And it meant we had time for some fun photos with their four-legged pal, Otto. He was a good boy, even if he did try to steal the show a few times. A dog-friendly wedding is always a winner!

Lusty Beg itself is a stunner. It's like something out of a postcard, all peaceful and scenic. The perfect backdrop for a Northern Ireland wedding, especially a Lusty Beg wedding. And especially when you've got a crowd as lively as Claire and Matthew's. They were up for a laugh, that's for sure. The atmosphere was brilliant, everyone in great form, helped along by a cracking playlist the couple had put together themselves. Good tunes are essential for a good knees-up, as everyone knows.

After a feed fit for a king (or at least a very hungry wedding guest), the real fun began at their Lusty Beg wedding reception. First, a surprise fireworks display. Boom! The sky lit up like someone had flicked a switch, and everyone went "Ooh!" and "Aah!" It was a brilliant touch, a bit of unexpected magic to make their Lusty Beg wedding even more special. As a wedding photographer, these moments are gold!

Then, The Manouche Boys took over. They played some foot-tapping music that had everyone up and dancing. Even those who claimed they had two left feet were giving it a go. There were some interesting dance moves on display, let's just say that. But hey, it's a wedding – anything goes! Especially a Lusty Beg wedding!

And the grand finale? Claire grabbing the mic and belting out "Teenage Dirtbag" with Matthew and the rest of the crew joining in. It was a belter of a way to end the night, a proper singalong that left everyone buzzing. A truly memorable Lusty Beg wedding moment!

Claire and Matthew's wedding was a cracker. A bit of tradition, a bit of vintage style, a whole lot of fun. It was a day I won't forget anytime soon, and I'm sure they won't either. If you're planning a Lusty Beg wedding, or any wedding in Northern Ireland, get in touch!
